President's Message
Dear colleagues,
As the Textile Exporters and Employees Association, we set out on 1 October 2020 with the motto 'With the Awareness of the Future'. We launched our association where both exporter companies and those working in the textile industry can meet on the same platform and get strength from each other. We established 11 working committees and started to lead the development of the textile industry. Our association, which has a history of only 3 years, has carried out important works for the development of our industry in a short time.
Since the day we started our activities, we have been working to build a sustainable future in the textile industry, to accelerate our country's exports, and to contribute to the professional development of employees.
As a mission, we have adopted to successfully represent and promote our country abroad, to carry out activities to support and develop education, especially in our sector, to increase qualified employment in the textile sector and to work for the sector to achieve the value it deserves.
We have carried out R&D studies in addition to providing solutions to the employment problems of the textile industry, which we believe will provide added value to our country, digitalisation and benefiting from technology, providing cooperation with universities, environment and sustainability.
In this process, we went through troubled periods such as the Covid 19 pandemic, economic crisis and recession, which affected both companies and our employee members together with the whole world. Based on the saying that every crisis brings new opportunities, we have worked together to turn crises into opportunities and sought ways out. As it is known, our members consist of exporter corporate companies and sector employees. As an association, we are at a very different point from other non-governmental organisations representing our sector with our hybrid structure. We attach special importance to women in our sector, business life and association activities. For this reason, half of the members of the Board of Directors of TİHCAD are women.
Our association is growing fast and confidently. We started our regional structuring activities in the Aegean region.
On 29 September 2023, we opened our first representative office with a ceremony in Izmir. With our Izmir-based Aegean representative office, we plan to open new export doors for companies producing wedding dresses and home textiles in the region and to organise training activities that will contribute to the development of employees.
As TİHCAD, we have a long way to go and a lot of work to do, with the aim of being one of the leading sectors contributing to the growth and development of Turkey and contributing to the quality of exports. We would be happy to see everyone who wants to contribute to the development of our sector among us.
Sincerely regards
Ergin AYDIN
TİHCAD President
